After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Edward Fong earned his doctorate of optometry at the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2001. Dr. Fong’s rigorous residency training at the Baltimore Veterans Administration Medical Center advanced his understanding and skills to care for patients with ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and other retinal and corneal disease. Afterwards, Dr. Fong completed additional training caring for children and adults with developmental disorders and/or learning disabilities. Through his clinical experience, Dr. Fong has developed a unique program of therapy called M.O.V.E. (Moving Onward Valuing Excellence) TherapySM designed specifically for people with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). He has also applied the same expertise in developing M.O.V.E. TherapySM for Reading & Learning Dysfunction and M.O.V.E. TherapySM for ADHD & Other Developmental Disorders. Dr. Fong applies the most current research to his testing and therapy to help students unlock their potential. He has helped children and adults with ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD), strokes and many more. Dr. Fong often speaks at lectures and conferences including the annual Learning Disabilities Association of Texas State Conference. His presentations have included “Sloppy Handwriting, Slow Reading – What’s the Cause?”, “Visual Dysfunction, ASD and M.O.V.E. TherapySM”, “Stop School Failure!”, “Prepare Your Preschooler for Reading Success”, “Vision and Learning” and “Cyclosporine A – Panacea or Myth?”. He has been named one of America’s top optometrists. Dr. Fong enjoys sports of all kinds and cooking. He is the devoted husband of his beautiful wife Grace and a loving father to his daughters Faith and Joy.
